Individual Life Membership: The Individual life membership of IGS Bangalore Chapter is open to individuals engaged in activities consistent with the aim of the Centre. The minimum qualifications for individual membership shall be one of the following:
a. Degree in Engineering or Equivalent.
b. Diploma in Engineering with at least three years of certified experience in any of the fields of Geotechnical Engineering
c. A Master’s degree in Science or equivalent with two years of experience in any of the fields related to Geotechnical Engineering.
Student Membership: Student membership of IGS Bangalore Chapter is open to all undergraduate and graduate students of Karnataka with Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering as their major subjects
Institutional Membership: The Institutional membership is open to all Institutions connected with teaching, research and development work, design, consultancy and/or construction work in the fields consistent with the Aim of the Society
Application for Membership: Application for Membership of IGS Bangalore Chapter shall be submitted to the Secretary of IGS Bangalore Chapter. These applications are normally approved by the Secretary. In the event of any discrepancy, it may be placed in the Executive Committee.
All life members of Indian Geotechnical Society, living in Karnataka region are enrolled free as members of IGS Bangalore Chapter. For all other individuals, the fee for the Membership shall be one-time payment of Rs.500/- or any amount fixed by the general body, from time to time.
Students are enrolled free.
Institutional membership fee shall be one-time payment of Rs.10000/- or any amount fixed by the general body, from time to time.
RIGHTS & PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERSHIP:
All members are entitled to participate in the meeting / symposia / conferences / seminars of IGS Bangalore Chapter and receive publications of the chapter as decided by the Executive committee from time to time. The members shall also be entitled to receive those priced publications of IGS Bangalore Chapter that are approved by the Executive Committee at concessional rates.
